GALDEF’s How to Sue and Win! campaign, launched in April, was a resounding success thanks to the generous contributions of our supporters. Our goal of $12,000 by July 1 was exceeded, raising $12,655. The bulk of the funds will be used to produce our two-module video training series designed for attorneys and potential plaintiffs. The one hour attorney training module will be filmed in Los Angeles and feature interviews with attorneys Eric Clopper and David Llewellyn. Filming will begin in the last quarter of 2025, with editing and final completion expected by the end of the year. GALDEF is investigating the possibility of offering Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for attorneys who watch the training module. The training module for potential plaintiffs will feature advice from attorneys Clopper and Llewellyn about the best ways for circumcision sufferers to initiate and prepare for a lawsuit.

Remaining funds from the campaign were designated for GALDEF booths at several Pride festivals, specifically Los Angeles, Portland, Oregon and Palm Springs, California (November). As always, our one-day booth at L.A. Pride in June was a tremendous success that was met with overwhelming public support, especially from youth. The two-day Portland event in July allowed us to speak with hundreds of festival attendees about children’s genital autonomy as well as the Hadachek v. Oregon equal protection legal challenge. A full recap of the Portland event is here.

GALDEF looks forward to another successful booth at Palm Springs Pride in November, which draws visitors from Los Angeles and the entire Southern California region, as well as from Phoenix, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
