The recent atrocities perpetrated against Israeli and American citizens by Hamas terrorists – ostensibly on behalf of the Palestinian people in retaliation for decades of oppression by the government of Israel – are becoming clearer every day. GALDEF believes that the taking of civilian hostages and the premeditated murder of innocent men, women and children, including infants and the elderly, can never be morally justified.

GALDEF joins the international community in denouncing these crimes against humanity committed on October 7, 2023.

Wholesale and indiscriminate violence targeting entire populations, whether by Hamas or by the Israeli Defense Force, is not only unacceptable and immoral, but a violation of international covenants governing conduct during times of war.

We stand in solidarity with those affected on both sides, either directly or indirectly, by these tragedies. We appeal to all parties in this conflict to adhere to the dictates of international law and to respect the lives and safety of all innocent civilians.
